With the recent lunar eclipse, which occurred on August 28th, I began to wonder about the effect a lunar eclipse may, or may not have on the tides, so I did some research. With my research, I learned we will have a solar eclipse on September 11, 2007 only weeks after we had the lunar eclipse! Although that's not a lunar eclipse, it's still interesting information, but not what I was wondering.
Continuing my research I learned that a lunar eclipse has no affect on the tides. The tides are only affected by the Moon's gravitational pull, and slightly affected by the Sun.
That was interesting to learn, but there are many other interesting things about a lunar eclipse, so have fun as you explore to learn more!

Thanks, that was an interesting article.
I live by the ocean also and am very much aware how the activity of the moon influences high and low tide.
